Joshua Olusegun Fayomi, researcher of KTU Kauno technologijos universitetas/ Kaunas University of Technology and talented business strategist one of European Social Entrepreneurship And Innovative Studies Institute host entrepreneurs who participated in the programme Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs. He is exited that he had opportunity to help two young entrepreneurs from abroad to go forward with their business.

In the short interview below, he shares his thoughts about participating in the programme.

👉 Your biggest professional power is creating strategies for business and diving deep to processes. What challenges do you accept in your field the most and what is the most joyful for you?

As a business and strategy consultant it find it very fulfilling to embed myself in my clients challenges and correlating along with all stakeholders within the business sustainable solution for which every party involved takes some ownership and ultimately pride. It is my experience that stakeholders (employees for instance) do not enjoy very much been given a free cooked directive and they engage much better with solutions to which they can claim some contribution.

I role as a strategic consultant is to lead this process and bring life and energy to an ailing system, and where that is not present I lead the process of creating solid systems which support the business processes and activities of the enterprise. It is also always a pleasure to work with founders and innovators who otherwise would not be able to afford premium consulting services which usually are very expensive and may lock them out of tangible opportunities.

👉 You collaborated with participant of the programme “Erasmus for the Young Entrepreneurs”. What country did he/ she come from and how did he/ she strengthen your business?

I have collaborated with young entrepreneurs from Poland and Romania on different visits. The young entrepreneur visiting from Poland had a business idea to create a sports management platform and I was able to mentor him and his partner on how to achieve this along with provision of some technical reviews to their product design and overseeing the development process. It is nice to know that this product is doing very well in Poland at the moment and both founders are successfully running their startup.

The second Young entrepreneur visited from Romania and came with the goal of improving his understanding of media business and the strategies, processes and systems needed for a successful project. We were able to work extensively on media business training, as well as the creation of a media unit for my business which is a result of this collaboration.

👉 What do you think is the greatest value that the young entrepreneur received from the cooperation with you?

The relationship created between young and experienced entrepreneurs is a lifelong value chain that can be topped into. It is also very useful to the young entrepreneur to get mentorship and guidance in his/her formative stage of enterprise.

👉 Why should other experienced entrepreneurs participate in this entrepreneur experience exchange?

I have found this program to be useful to young entrepreneurs as it allows for them to travel and explore other climes, markets and cultures. The experience gotten from working in a structured organisation is also a good base on which discipline and and a culture of hard work is built. Furthermore young entrepreneurs could also pickup management and strategy skills from working closely with operations and strategy managers on a daily bases.
