#EYEsuccess-stories “Challenging, yet nurturing at the same time” — Ieva Šapalaitė, Lithuania, 30 years old

Ieva had a chance to go to Berlin for 6 months — and learn from her ERASMUS partner there. Her startup — Mindletic — is a mental gym for emotional muscle. It promotes a holistic approach for mindful organizations. From breathing exercises to peer support in the community rooms, her goal is to create a global tool for emotional balance.

Ieva Šapalaitė, Mindletic

Ieva was inspired to create Mindletic after noticing that there’s a lack of science-backed tools for mental and emotional well-being. She launched Mindletic with the purpose to fight mental stigma.

After hearing recommendations from a few friends of hers, including her business partners, Ieva decided to participate in EYE, expecting to gain more knowledge on how to efficiently operate a startup and what are the specifics in other markets, specifically — German one, to broaden her professional network and engage in experience-sharing activities.

She was glad to have her expectations met! Her mentor that she found through the program, according to Ieva herself, was very willingly sharing her knowledge, consulting her on Mindletic. Her mentor was even inviting her to join the meetings with her and her startup business partners. Ieva was learning by helping her mentor with some legal, administrative, operational, CS tasks and responsibilities, which brought her, as Ieva herself claims, tons of knowledge.

“I obtained plenty of practical knowledge regarding business operations in Germany,” claims Ieva.

“My goal was to get a better understanding of how the German market works, keeping in mind Mindletic’s successful expansion there.”

Among hardships she came across, the entrepreneur mentions time management. Ieva says she was initially worried about her ability to learn and manage her business at the same time — however, all went well with encouragement and tips from her mentor in Berlin. “I started time blocking,” smiles Ieva.

The clear, measurable achievements of the program, the startup owner identifies, are the tools she learned to use, such as Hubspot or LinkedIn for lead generation; and Ieva even finished a UX training while on the program, which enabled her to improve her business website.

When asked whether would she recommend EYE to others, she affirms positively. “Sure thing! EYE program helped me to meet a lot of inspiring and motivated, open-minded professionals who were willing to share their knowledge and experience. I established new partnerships and broadened my professional network in Germany and other countries as well!”
